Week 3 — 28th October, 2016

28 Oct 2016

Maryborough Little Athletics Centre had a relatively quiet night last Friday, clashing with both
the Carisbrook Primary School disco and the St Augustine's Twilight Fair. Despite athlete numbers
being down, the competition was still very good.

Cassidy Miller showed great form to dominate the 200m event, as did Cameron Aik. Newcomer
Jesse Sullivan ran an outstanding 200m in 26.94 seconds, leaving the rest of the field in
his wake. Jesse will be an athlete to watch in future.

In the U10 girls age group, Eloise Lighten took advantage of a smaller field to take
five wins in five events, including an excellent Javelin throw of 7.8 metres.

Maryborough Little Athletics is held each Friday at the Jack Pascoe Reserve, behind the indoor
sports centre on Gilles Street. Meet at 5:15pm for a 5:30pm start. Athletes from ages 5 to 15 are
welcome. Please phone centre secretary Andrew Lighten on 0400 632 900 for more information.
